2 steps to feel better after the glucose test

Gurk! Survived my glucose test today but now I feel tired, have a headache, and a little bit of an upset stomach. The remedy: active rest. I tackle the headache with alternate nostril breathing, which is adapted for pregnancy-related congestion. So if you think you already know how to do nadi sodhana, pay attention because this one is slightly different!
And I follow it up with supported child’s pose. Watch the quick video to see how to do it and then practice this after your glucose test or whenever you need a little TLC.

Four wishes for your baby

During my first pregnancy, I expected to feel pregnant, like right away. Sometimes this was a source of despair as I wondered “What’s going on in there?!” I was really lucky and didn’t have morning sickness, but this was also disturbing, making me ask myself “Am I really carrying a new life in there?”
Fortunately, yes indeed and 9 months later I gave birth to the most wonderful little person ever. But in the meantime I often struggled with trying to ‘connect’ with my baby. I thought it’d be natural, I’d sit, hold my round belly and feel some major connection. But it wasn’t like that, it was hard to focus, there was a lot to do, I’d try and try and just feel restless.
Recently, I was reminded of a meditation I really like to do called a metta meditation; metta means : lovingkindness. This meditation consists of extending loving kindness to yourself, then someone who has helped us, a friend and on and on until we include everyone in the world, even people we don’t get along with.
My version is a lot more simple. It centers on you and your baby. Click the link below and follow along for this 3 minute meditation.
