I was inspired by Richard Branson’s book: Screw Business as Usual
to write out exactly how my business is unique and created from the heart and geared towards social change. Here’s what I wrote:
I’m screwing work for work’s sake. Everyone contributes their true strengths and loves what they do, it feeds their souls. We have time to do other stuff besides work because we need to and want to, and we’re all better off that way.
I screw rocketing to the top by burning everyone else as fuel. I focus on building collaborations, connections and community as my business grows. And it grows strong.
I screw pesticides and let it grow organically. I don’t follow a path of destruction. I have a thriving, awesome garden of hearty deliciousness. A feast that can be shared.
Which is why I screw greed. I’ve built social causes into my profit goals. I give and someone else’s life improves. We all gain something that way. And it feels really good.
I take the screws off my office door. Everyone is welcome to see what I’m doing, to learn from it. Sometimes these people are in their pajamas and want a bedtime story.
