I am really excited to share a cool Do Good Project with you! As a doula, and someone passionate about maternal health and all things baby I am a huge fan of the March of Dimes. If you are not familiar with this organization, the March of Dimes works to prevent birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality, and also advance maternal and health research. All excellent stuff. Their website is very informative and a great resource.
So, here’s the fun news:
In August, the March of Dimes and Macy’s are launching a Shop for a Cause fundraiser. Basically, when you buy a $5 Macy’s saving pass you receive 25% off on regular, sale & clearance items including stuff for the home. Electronics, watches, furniture, mattresses, rugs/floor coverings are 10% off.
Why buy a pass? Because Macy’s will donate 100% of the $5 cost of the savings pass to the March of Dimes. That gives more babies a healthy start in life. Pretty cool way to make a difference in my opinion.
Ok, so here’s the info on getting the passes:
For those who prefer in-store shopping: Stop by Macy’s from August 15-24 and buy a pass. (these passes are for in-store shopping on the 25th).
For those who love online shopping: Buy your savings pass on August 25 online at macys.com (these passes are for online purchases only).
When to shop:
August 25 – use your passes online or in stores (depending on where you bought them)!
FYI all you Mass readers: Two stores in Massachusetts will hold Shop for a Cause on August 24 & August 25. Boston (450 Washington Street, Boston); Berkshire (170 Old State Road, Lanesboro). So if you want to get shopping early, you can go on August 24 and buy a pass and shop.
As many of you know I LOVE girls’ clothes, so I had some fun this afternoon browsing through the Macy’s website for my favorite picks for this fall. If you like what you see just click on the image for more info.
